Kerttu Kotakorpi

I am a meteorologist and climate advocate. I have made a long career as a meteorologist for TV news, and most recently, I worked on a documentary series related to climate change at Yle (Finnish Broadcasting Company). Climate and nature are strongly present in everything I do.

Mitigating climate change, halting biodiversity loss, and communicating about these issues are the most important things I know. Exploring nature and capturing it through photography are also significant passions of mine.

For me, spending time in nature is essential for relaxation and counterbalancing work. Photography seamlessly accompanies these excursions. You can see my photos on social media channels and in my latest book “Minun luontoni” (My Nature). The book comprises self-taken photographs, expedition stories, and information related to nature, climate change, and particularly birds. I enjoy discussing these same themes as well.

I believe that by sharing beautiful images and exploring nature, we can inspire others to defend our unique northern wilderness and the four seasons, which are undergoing significant changes.
