The Finnish Nature Photographers Association (Suomen Luonnonvalokuvaajat SLV ry) will continue as the main partner of the Kuusamo Nature Photo event.
Founded in 1977, the Finnish Nature Photographers Association welcomes all who are interested in nature photography. Whether you’re an enthusiast or a professional, all members share a desire to develop their skills as nature photographers. As a member, you become part of Finland’s largest community of nature photographers, gain new inspiration, and stay up to date with developments in the field. At the same time, you support Finnish nature photography.
The association is best known for organizing the annual Nature Photograph of the Year competition. Open to all nature photographers, the competition aims to spotlight Finnish nature and showcase the best nature photos of the year — in all their beauty and diversity. Each year, a stunning Nature Photographs of the Year book is published, featuring the competition’s highlights. An accompanying exhibition, composed of the award-winning images, also tours extensively across Finland in multiple series.
